Run IT BetterIT Operations & Operational Excellence
ITSM, reliability, service transformation, and vendor performance. Start here when production is unpredictable, or when you want an independent baseline first.
Operational & process excellence
Operational & Process Excellence: IT Operations Transformation
For: Organizations whose outages, backlogs, or service levels are unpredictable, or whose operation works but needs to perform measurably better.
What happens
- Stabilize: 24x7 monitoring, tiered triage, production change guardrails, and an owner for every service
- Standardize (process excellence): ITSM and ITIL discipline, SOPs, a service catalog, and baselined, published SLAs and KPIs
- Automate: ticket analysis to size the opportunity, alert correlation and routing, proactive ticketing
- Modernize: modern work-tracking, disaster recovery, and a secure development lifecycle
What you get: an operation with named owners and measurable SLAs, a shrinking backlog and incident count, and a team that holds the gains. See
the IT operations turnaround.
Assessment & roadmap
Technology Assessment & Transformation Roadmap
Offered as the Delivery Confidence Scan.
For: Leaders who suspect delivery is less predictable than the reports say, or who need an independent, fact-based baseline before committing to a larger program.
What happens (2 to 3 weeks, fixed scope)
- Review of incident, backlog, and SLA data, plus interviews with the people closest to the work
- Assessment of the operating model, tooling, and vendor performance
- Sample ticket analysis to size the automation opportunity
What you get: a plain-language findings readout, a prioritized and sequenced roadmap, baseline metrics with targets, and a recommended next step. If the next step isn’t me, I’ll say so.
Vendors & economics
Vendor Performance & Technology Economics
For: Leaders who need vendors held to the contract, or who face build-versus-buy and fixed-bid-versus-time-and-materials decisions.
What happens: I review SOWs and commercial structure, set up vendor governance and performance measures, and analyze total cost, with the perspective of both the buyer and the delivery partner.
What you get: a clear view of what each vendor is accountable for, a governance cadence, and a total-cost analysis that supports the decision.
Modernize with ConfidenceTechnology Strategy & Modernization
Portfolio rationalization, platform modernization, Secure SDLC, and integration. Start here when you are changing core technology and the business cannot afford disruption.
Portfolio strategy
Application Portfolio Assessment & Rationalization
For: Leaders who need to know what they run, what it costs, and what to keep, consolidate, or retire, whether the driver is cost pressure, an acquisition, a modernization program, or audit and risk.
What happens (fixed scope)
- Inventory the portfolio and map each application to the business capability it supports
- Assess business value and technical fit on one consistent scale
- Build a total-cost-of-ownership view for each application
- Decide a disposition for every application, and sequence the work into funded waves
What you get: a capability map, a fit assessment, a total-cost baseline, a disposition for every application, a multi-wave investment roadmap, and an executive readout built to win a funding decision. See
the 350-application case study.
IT modernization
IT Modernization
Core platform migrations are offered as CoreShift.
For: Organizations moving a core system of record (claims, enrollment, billing, policy, or ledger platforms, for example) off a legacy system, or modernizing while keeping a regulated business running.
What happens
- Readiness and risk assessment across vendors, interfaces, and data
- Go-live options analysis, such as phased enablement versus a controlled run-out and clean cutover
- A vendor testing process and change control that work across a multi-vendor ecosystem
- Interface sequencing and data-cutover rules the business can test before it goes live
What you get: a defensible go-live recommendation, a test-and-cutover plan, and an owner for the process that protects customers and members during the switch. My direct migration experience is on core healthcare platforms.
Secure SDLC
Secure SDLC & DevSecOps
For: Organizations that need security, quality, and audit evidence built into how software is delivered, not bolted on at the end.
What happens
- Baseline current delivery maturity and security controls
- Design a secure SDLC: secure coding standards, automated checks in the pipeline, and release gates
- Put a secure CI/CD toolchain and cloud security guardrails in place
- Define roles, metrics, and the evidence trail an auditor will ask for
My role: I design the standard and govern its adoption; your engineers implement it.
What you get: a secure SDLC standard, a pipeline control map, a sequenced roadmap, and delivery and security metrics. See
related results.
Integration
IT Integration Advisory
Offered as Post-Acquisition Integration.
For: Acquirers, including the private equity firms behind them, who need two technology environments, vendors, and operations to work as one.
What happens: I inventory both application portfolios, map capabilities and costs, decide what to keep, merge, replace, or retire, and sequence the work so customers and regulated processes aren’t disrupted. The RightVector OS then stabilizes and standardizes the combined operation.
What you get: an integration roadmap with a total-cost view, a rationalization plan, and a governance cadence.
Innovate ResponsiblyExecutive Advisory & Innovation
Fractional and interim leadership, transformation governance, and AI readiness. Start here when you need an executive to own the change, or want AI adopted under governance.
Executive leadership
Fractional & Interim CIO and CTO-Level Leadership
For: Organizations with a leadership gap, a stalled program, or a delivery operation that needs an executive to own it during a period of change.
How it works
- Fractional: one to three days a week on a monthly retainer, with a weekly sponsor meeting, a delivery rhythm, and a decision log.
- Interim: full-time coverage of the seat while a permanent leader is found, with a hand-off plan built in.
- Remote, or on site in the Atlanta area by arrangement.
What I own: technology strategy and roadmap, transformation governance, delivery operating cadence, SLAs and KPIs, vendor governance, executive and board reporting, and team structure.
What I don’t do in this role: hands-on implementation, or engagements without a clear, measurable objective. I lead and restructure delivery; I don’t take the keyboard.
What you get: a stable operation, measurable SLAs, and a team that can run without me.
Innovation & AI
Innovative Solutions & Optimization through AI
For: Organizations that want to use automation and AI to optimize operations, safely and within regulatory and security constraints.
What happens
- Find the highest-value use cases from your own ticket and process data
- Assess readiness, data, and risk before anything is deployed
- Design secure, governed deployments, such as private knowledge systems and enterprise AI tools
- Build the governance, guardrails, and enablement that make adoption stick, and measure it
My role: I lead selection, governance, and enablement. Hands-on model engineering comes from your team or a specialist partner.
What you get: a prioritized use-case portfolio, an AI governance and acceptable-use framework, a secure architecture for the first deployment, and an adoption plan with metrics. Ticket analysis in
the operations case study sized about 30% of incidents as automatable.
